Ghana

Sulemanu was enrolled in the I.N. Network Ghana Amrahia Community School in 1994 when he was only four years old. His father had died and his mother was not gainfully employed. He had three older siblings who were still at school and depended on their mother. Life was a big struggle for young Sulemanu and his family. They had no food, clothing and medical care and depended on the charity from neighbors. The family was so poor that giving away one of Sulemanu's sisters into marriage at age 14 was considered the only way out of their poverty and desperation at a certain point in time. I.N. Network intervened and the marriage did not take place.

Sulemanu's mother enrolled him and his siblings in the Amrahia Community School, where he benefited from the I.N. Child Assistance Program.  The school gave him a daily hot meal and school uniforms. The hot meals at school were the only meals he ate at times because his mother could not afford to provide two meals a day for the family. The health programs organized by the school were the only source for health care for Sulemanu and his siblings. Clothing sent as gifts from sponsors were the source of clothing at times for Sulemanu.

After Sulemanu's basic education at Amrahia, I.N. Network sponsored him through Senior Secondary school and he is now waiting to continue to University. He will rewrite the Mathematics examination in order to meet the entry requirement for University next year.  Suleman's testimony was very compelling.  He said, "If it were not for the sponsorship of I.N. Network I would not have found Christ and made it to this point in life. I could have died from starvation or been an armed robber, a drug addict or anything that would have been unacceptable to God and society. If I.N. Network continues to help, the Lord willing, I will study to be an accountant"

Sulemanu's older sisters also benefited from the I.N. Child Assistance Program. They have all completed their Senior Secondary school education and are very thankful to God and I.N. Network.

The sponsorship Program is a life changing program that has impacted many children and their homes. Even though the program is child specific the benefits that accrued to the families were tremendous. Sulemanu's mother by association received help for her medical care and the upkeep of the entire family. The testimony of God's love flowing from sponsors has been exceptional.
